Getting started

What is DoneYet?

Shared task lists for the groups you are already part of: households, trips, events, and teams, with assignments, comments, activity, and optional DY Assist. The app is built for coordination; policy pages and invite links live on doneyet.co.

Who can use DoneYet?

DoneYet is invite-based. You join when someone in a group shares a link, QR code, or email invitation, or adds you from the member list. There is no public directory to browse or join random groups. Group owners decide who is on the list.

How do I create or join a group?

Create a group from the Groups tab, then open the group’s Members list (or group settings) to Add members and share an invite link or show the group QR code. To join someone else’s group, use their invite link, scan their QR code (Account → Scan QR code), or accept an email invitation and sign in with that same email. Invite links can expire. Ask the owner for a fresh one if yours no longer works.

How do I sign in?

Use Sign in with Apple, Google, or email verification. The same account syncs across your devices.

Tasks and groups

What is My Tasks?

The My Tasks tab lists work assigned to you across every group you belong to, in one place.

Can I add skills or interests to my profile?

Yes. Optional profile fields during onboarding or under Account help groups see who is comfortable with which kinds of tasks. Profile photos are moderated before others see them.

How do recurring tasks and reminders work?

Set a repeat schedule when creating or editing a task. Optional push notifications can be toggled from Account → Settings on supported devices.

How does task distribution work?

Auto fair distribution balances unclaimed work with built-in rules (included on Free). DoneYet Pro adds AI-powered distribution and custom template suggestions when you turn those options on.

How do I leave a group or transfer ownership?

From the group, open actions on your membership: leave if you are not the only owner, or transfer ownership if you are. Owners can remove members when needed.

DY Assist and Insights

What is DY Assist?

The assistant on the DY Assist tab answers questions about your tasks and groups using data already in DoneYet, not the open web. Free includes a limited lifetime message allowance; Pro expands daily usage.

What is the Insights tab?

Charts for your tasks across groups. Everyone can view the overview; Pro unlocks status filters, assignee drill-down, and opening the matching task list from a chart.

DoneYet Pro and billing

What’s included in Free vs Pro?

Free covers groups, full task workflows, fair auto distribution, comments, activity, and limited DY Assist. Pro adds AI distribution, template suggestions, expanded DY Assist, and interactive Insights. See plans on our homepage or Account → Subscription for current pricing in your region.

How does billing work?

Subscriptions are purchased through the App Store or Google Play (1-, 3-, or 6-month plans where offered). Manage or cancel auto-renew in Account → Subscription or your store’s subscription settings.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. Cancel active subscriptions in your Apple or Google account. See our delete account page for steps.

Safety, privacy and account

How do I block or report someone?

In a group, open the member list, select a member, then Block user or Report user. See Community Safety for standards and how we respond.

What data does DoneYet collect?

Account, profile, group, and task data plus technical information needed to run the service. We do not sell personal information. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Does DoneYet read my contacts?

Only if you allow it. When you choose to find friends from your contacts, phone numbers from your address book are matched against verified DoneYet users so we can show who is already here. We do not keep contacts that do not match a DoneYet user, and we never sell or share your contacts. You can turn off contact discoverability in Account → Settings (“Find me on DoneYet”) and revoke the permission in your device settings.

Do I have to give my phone number?

No. Verifying a phone number is optional. If you do, we confirm it with a one-time SMS code so people you know can find you and to help reduce abuse. You can use DoneYet without a verified phone number.

How do I delete my account?

Account → Settings → Danger zone → Delete account permanently, then type DELETE as prompted to confirm. Cannot access the app? Email [email protected].

Who can I contact for help?

Account → Help & Support → Contact support in the app. For legal or privacy topics, use the emails on our policy pages.
